Six months ago, I left a review extolling the virtues of this company. My recently widowed daughter had just been diagnosed with cancer and she wanted to have a motorhome so that, in her words, she could ‘make some happy memories with her young family.’ She chose a Renault Trafic camper van costing £8,750.00. At the point of sale, we were told that: 1. They would have the van serviced and a fresh MOT which would include all previous advisories rectified. 2. They would Waxoyl the van to increase its longevity. 3. They would install, at no extra charge, a reversing camera system and 4. They would deliver the van on the back of a low-loader direct to my daughter’s home in Leeds. The van was duly delivered (in retrospect – it would never have made it under its own steam) - and my daughter was overjoyed with her new acquisition I was a little disgruntled with the way the reversing camera had been installed with wiring draped across the top of the dash – but something which can be lived with. A few days later, I had a little drive in it and immediately noticed that the steering was a little wobbly and recalled that this was mentioned as an advisory on the previous MOT along with the cracks in the tyres which were still there. Looking at the new MOT, the advisories for this and the cracks in the tyres had disappeared but no mention of this being done on the service receipt. Decided to have a service done locally and they said that there was no obvious sign of a service having been done recently and there was no sign of any Waxoyl. My daughter’s first – and only – trip in the van with her daughter was to Whitby for a weekend. Half way there, the engine stopped. It eventually restarted and they managed to complete the journey to Whitby. On the return journey, the engine stopped several times and it took some time for them to limp back to Leeds. A friend who is a Renault mechanic, had a look at the engine and partially dismantled it discovering several faults including severe corrosion on two of the fuel injectors. Repairing the engine would be an expensive business and not something my daughter could immediately afford. She telephoned CJT Campers whose only suggestion was that she deliver it back to them for inspection – difficult since the engine was still in pieces. They then said that if she had a breakdown service (which she had), she should tell them it had just broken down and had to be delivered to Co. Durham. Not an ethical idea and not something she would contemplate. To cut a long story short, the van remained immobile on her drive until the end of July when she had the necessary funds of nearly £2000.00 for repairs to the engine and tyres. Five links in the timing chain were broken and some of the wiring in the van was as they described it, dodgy. She is about to embark on her second outing to Wales. Let’s hope she makes it. I think the moral of the story is that one should buy a vehicle from a local trustworthy garage recommended by people you know. Just a footnote: In all the time the van has been on her drive, my daughter has undergone intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy and things are now looking positive. It’s just a pity she has lost this summer’s memories.
What a revelation this place was. They make motor caravans to what is an apparently high standard and charge a fraction of the 'norm' in the industry. My daughter bought a super van and they will now MOT, service, install a reversing camera and deliver it to Leeds at no extra charge. On a bitterly cold day, they even supplied us with cups of hot soup! Nice people. Worth a visit.
Excellent bespoke conversionsGreat variety of campervans to suit all budgets Greatselection of vans awaiting conversions for customers to choose from like I didIm so excited now and was great been able to choose colours and get exactly what I wanted This is a highly recommended company well worth a visit
Endless amounts of problem with van from fuel pumps and now broken down for the 3rd time with something different. Feel I have wasted a lot of money. Wont be recommending and will be sharing this on social media. Even tried to blame us about the fuel pump stating we had put petrol in. Only had the van since October. Very unhappy customer.
Went in for plywood boards came out having put a deposit down on a new build camper van conversion. Cant wait. Now to go and tell the wife ha ha. Thanks gentlemen
I bought an old caravan off this company via eBay. I immediately felt at ease messaging the gentleman on eBay and arranged toCollect. When I arrived I was welcomed into the yard very warmly. Offered a drink and shown round everything. Me and my wife Shirley loved it and couldnt fault it at all. With it being old we were expecting a little damp but couldnt see anything at all on it. Even if it gets a little damp the age of the caravan will be the fault of that. We absolutely love our new getaway home perfect for us 2. Thanks again lads and Ill recommend you to everyone I know! P.s the vans your all doing look cracking! All the best Graham and Shirley
